Dr. Khunying Sumontha Promboon, serving as the president of Chitrlada Technology Institute under the patronage of HRH Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, has been a trailblazer in promoting STEM education. Pioneering partnerships with MERCK, she introduced the “Little Scientist House” project in 2008, emphasizing hands-on experiences and mind-on learning through Meta cognition and Co-Construction pedagogy. This innovative curriculum has reached over 29,000 schools and 232 networks, spanning early childhood to primary education. As a distinguished member of the Commission on Higher Education in Thailand, Dr. Sumontha Promboon brings expertise in vocational education. Her accolades include multiple honorary doctoral degrees and awards such as the Outstanding Science Teacher Award and the Outstanding Thai Woman award. With specializations in biology, biotechnology, and science and technology education, she continues to make impactful contributions to education and human resource development.
