
Dr. Sakarindr Bhumiratana, the former president of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and a prominent figure in the National Reform Council, has a distinguished career at the intersection of academia, research, and policy. Beginning at Chulalongkorn University and later joining KMUTT, he served in various capacities, including chairman of the Department of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Bhumiratana’s leadership extended to roles like executive director of the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and president of the National Science and Technology Development Agency. His extensive contributions earned him accolades such as the ASEAN Meritorious Service Award and recognition as a fellow in prestigious international academies. Engaged in multiple capacities, he currently chairs the Thailand National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and Ajionomoto Foundation (Thailand), while being a member of various national boards and councils, showcasing his commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation in Thailand.
